Norm is well known for never paying for a beer. Sam, Coach and then Woody keep serving Norm beer. Occasionally Sam will talk with Norm about his tab.
I think there are some lessons for stewardship. (Maybe pledging is like a bar tab). How big is your tab at the church? Are you going along for a free ride?
Do you give because you feel forced, or do you give
willingly and generously as a response for the generosity God gives you?

Oct 2, 2016“Love the Sinner, Hate the Sin” – 11:00 amBy: Jeff MillerSeries: Half Truths
We start with the premise that all of us have sinned and fall short of God’s desired life for us. This saying has a great “half-truth” - love the sinner. Jesus says that loving God and loving our neighbor is the greatest commandment. Jesus also told his disciples at the Last Supper that they are to love one another - it is the identifying mark of being a disciple.
When we say we should love the sinner, it may put us in a position of seeing others only as sinner. Instead of as our neighbor. We tend to focus more on the sin than that person. We are not to keep quiet about sin or enable sin. We are to speak the truth in love. We need to speak out against oppression and speak for the voiceless. Above all, we need to keep in mind our job is not to convict –that is the Holy Spirit’s job—our job is to love no matter what.

Today we will take a hard look at the Bible and scripture with Pastor Jeff. Some people refer to the Bible as Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. The Bible is much more than an instruction book, owner’s manual or recipe book. Instruction books and manuals are neither inspiring nor life-changing. The Bible is both inspiring and life-changing. The Bible as God’s written word speaks to us today and helps us to live as faithful followers of Jesus Christ.
